How to Play
Riftbound Realms is a walkable, idle-friendly RPG on Robinhood Chain. Play free in your browser — here's everything you need in a few minutes.
1 · Start playing (free)
Open play.ryhood.com and tap Play as Guest — no wallet, no download. You'll pick a name once (that's how the realm knows you). Connect a wallet only when you want to mint a Genesis Character or trade on-chain.
Tip: save your realm key when it appears — it's the only way back into a guest account from another device.
2 · Move & interact
Walk with WASD / arrow keys, or tap the ground to auto-walk there. Stand next to a glowing spot, monster, NPC, or portal and press E (or tap it) to interact.
Brass waystones travel between zones. You can also open the World Map (M) and jump to any zone you've unlocked, including the town, Hearthaven.
3 · Energy — your action fuel
Most actions (gathering, hunting, crafting, striking the boss) cost energy. Free players have a 500 energy pool that refills fully in about 30 minutes — so if you run low, take a break or come back later; it fills on its own.
Genesis NFT holders play energy-free — unlimited actions, no waiting. That's the holder perk (see §11).
4 · Gathering
Around each zone you'll find fields, ore veins, oak stumps and more. Walk up and press E to farm / mine / chop. Each spot holds a few pulls before it needs a moment to refresh, so you can work it 2–3 times in a row.
Drops feed crafting, gear, and the marketplace. A daily rare-drop cap keeps things fair — after it, rares roll down to a common for the rest of the day.
5 · AFK Fishing 🎣
Fishing is truly hands-off. Travel to a water zone (Emberwood Edge, Grey Coast, Sunken Market), then tap the 🎣 AFK Fish button. Your character sits and casts — stand still and fish reels in on its own, roughly one catch every 45 seconds, no energy.
Catches pile up (up to ~30 minutes' worth) and auto-collect while you're there. Tap the button again to reel in and pack up. Great to leave running while you do other things.
6 · Combat & the World Boss
Hunt monster packs in the wild for XP and drops — walk up and press E. Your Attack / Defense / Speed decide the fight; losing a fight injures you for a short while.
A World Boss (a Rift Incursion) appears in the world on a rotation — you'll see it looming at its lair with an overhead health bar and timer. Everyone chips its health together; strike it (E / tap) and claim your share of the rewards from the Boss panel (Y) when it falls.
7 · Character & Gear
Open the Character panel (H) to see your hero: ATK / DEF / SPD, your Weapon / Armor / Charm slots, and your stats. Equip gear straight from the slot, then enhance it (+1 → +10) and socket Realm Gems for more power.
Spend stat points (earned on level-up) into Gathering (more yield), Luck (better rares), Endurance (more max energy), and combat stats.
8 · Companions
Hatch an egg into a companion that follows you and gives a small bonus (extra drop chance, luck, and more). Set one active in the Companions panel (P), and feed it Companion Treats to level it up — each level makes its bonus a little stronger (up to Lv 10).
9 · Hearthaven (the town) & NPCs 🏘️
From Emberwood Edge, take the waystone to Hearthaven — the realm's home town. Walk up to a townsperson and press E to talk:
- Odell the Merchant — the Diamond vault (shop)
- Wren the Lorekeeper — quests
- Marta the Steward — send offline work orders
- Cass the Broker — the marketplace
- Bram the Beast Tamer — companions
10 · Marketplace & Diamonds
Trade items and gear with other players on the Marketplace (K). Sales settle in ETH straight to your wallet (a small 1% fee funds the realm). Basic account-bound goods stay off-market; refined gear, gems, and companions can be traded.
Diamonds are the premium currency (bought with ETH). They price shop items and summons. Diamonds are non-tradeable and non-withdrawable — they buy convenience, never a cash-out advantage.
11 · Genesis NFT — the holder perk
Genesis Characters are 3,333 hand-crafted NFTs (blind-box; you choose your class at reveal). Holding one gives you a rarity-colored hero look and, most importantly, unlimited energy — you never wait on the energy bar.
It's a head start, not pay-to-win: daily XP and rare caps still apply to everyone, so free players stay competitive. Mint details live on the Genesis panel (G) and the mint guide.
12 · Your daily rhythm
Claim the Daily Login (L) streak, tick off Quests (Q), and send the Steward (O) on offline work while you're away. Daily XP/rare caps reset every day (UTC), so a little play each day goes a long way.
